Noble Undertakes Strategic Realignment of Services

Noble Inc. announced today a strategic realignment of its services that will allow the organization to deepen its impact in the areas where it serves children and adults with disabilities most effectively, while facilitating a compassionate and supportive transition for every individual and employee affected by the change.

As part of this strategic realignment, Noble will discontinue its Community Living residential services and partner with Sycamore Services to help individuals and families explore service options and support continuity of services through informed choice.

The move reflects Noble’s continued commitment to quality services during a time of increasing uncertainty surrounding federal and state funding for disability services. Noble leadership emphasized that this decision was made thoughtfully and intentionally, with clients, families, employees and the broader community at the center of every conversation.

“For 73 years, Noble has continuously evolved to meet the changing needs of the individuals and families we serve,” said Wade Wingler, Noble’s President and CEO. “This strategic realignment allows us to focus even more intentionally on the programs where Noble has the greatest expertise and ability to create life-changing impact, including day services, employment services and Children’s Services. Most importantly, we are committed to ensuring that no one is left behind during this time.”

The move will affect 38 individuals currently receiving residential services, less than one percent of the more than 4,400 children and adults Noble serves annually, along with approximately 80 staff members.

Noble’s Board of Directors and leadership team are working collaboratively with Sycamore Services to support individuals, families and employees as they evaluate next steps and service options. A respected Indiana-based provider with deep expertise in residential programming, Sycamore has expressed both the interest and capacity to serve individuals who may choose them as their provider and to actively recruit and prioritize consideration of qualified applicants from the existing workforce who are navigating this change.

Importantly, both clients and employees will have the opportunity to decide for themselves whether they wish to pursue services with Sycamore Services or to another provider. Noble is committed to supporting all individuals and employees regardless of the decisions they make.

To further support employees through this time, Noble plans to offer retention bonuses for staying throughout the period and COBRA coverage for eligible staff navigating this change, while Sycamore Services will be offering signing bonuses.

“We care deeply about every person impacted by this decision,” Wingler said. “Our commitment is to work collaboratively with Sycamore Services, families, employees, community partners, local leaders and state officials to ensure every individual has the opportunity to select the path that best fits their needs and goals.”

The strategic realignment positions Noble to continue strengthening and expanding programs that have become nationally recognized for their quality and community impact. In recent years, Noble has continued investing in innovative and inclusive programming, including the opening of Noble Art in Speedway in 2025.

“This decision honors our longstanding commitment to providing high-quality, community-integrated services,” Wingler added. “We are well positioned to focus on what we do best so the people we serve can continue to experience the highest quality of life possible and truly live out our mission to ‘Dream it. Live it.’

“We are grateful for the ongoing support of our community partners, including The Arc of Indiana, INARF and United Way of Central Indiana, whose investments and collaboration help us continue advancing our mission and serving our community.”
