Angie’s Story

Angie Smith works three days a week on the East Work Crews and two days a week in day programming services in Team 4. She primarily works at Covance/Dow Elanco, but she can fill in at other jobsites if needed. What is so great about Angie is that she gives 100% effort every day. She likes to know the daily schedule each day and is always asking what cleaning task to do next.

Angie has attended Old Bethel United Methodist Church since she was little, and is very active at her church. She volunteers in the nursery by babysitting as well as volunteering at the annual Fish Fry every August. In addition, Angie attends Trinity Lutheran Church once a week for bible study.

Angie is also active in Special Olympics. She attends camp each June, and participates in softball, track and field, and basketball. She bowls every Saturday and square dances every other week at Hilltop School. In 2008, she put her pitching skills on display when she threw out the first pitch at A Noble Night at Victory Field.

Her busy social life doesn’t end there. She meets the first Friday of every month at Calvary Temple for group activities and on the third Friday of every month, she attends The Fantastic’s Club at Arlington Heights.

Angie lives with her parents on the east side of town, and has attended Noble East for many years. She goes to a reading tutor every week to enhance her reading and writing skills. In 2009, she was honored with the East Work Crew Employee of the Month for her work ethic.
