Celebrating Value and Talent

On the job, Sam is in constant motion: filling utensil holders, wiping down tables, putting trays in the washing station. He joined the team at the Culver’s on State Highway 135 in Greenwood less than a year ago, but he began making an impact immediately with his interest in contributing however he can.

His coworkers are like family. They appreciate having him on the team and are quick to offer compliments for his work ethic, says Noble Employment Consultant Whitney Green. It’s a positive culture of encouraging each other that Manager Tyler Ellis has worked to cultivate.

“Celebrating Value and Talent” is the theme for this month as we recognize National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). This annual event pays tribute to the positive impact of people with disabilities on the American workforce.

This yearly event began in 1945 as a weeklong national observance of the contributions of people with physical disabilities. In 1988, Congress designated the commemoration as NDEAM, which then evolved to acknowledge the importance of increasing employment opportunities for people with all types of disabilities, including developmental and intellectual disabilities as well as mental health conditions and other nonobvious disabilities.

Noble is proud to celebrate the month with the people we serve and the businesses that employ them. In the past fiscal year, Noble has worked with approximately 400 adults in various stages of their employment journey. Click here for more information on Noble’s employment services.
