Sensory Rooms Open at Indianapolis Intl. Airport

The Indianapolis International Airport (IND) now offers dedicated sensory spaces and support services to ease the travel experience for individuals and families who may benefit from additional accommodations.

IND offers two sensory rooms, one on each concourse, designed to provide a controlled environment for travelers who may feel overwhelmed in a busy airport setting. These rooms feature dimmable lighting, tactile elements, sound-absorbing materials and comfortable seating to support self-regulation and relaxation. The rooms also include large private restrooms with changing tables, blackout shades, complimentary blankets, headphones and sensory bags.. In fact, the airport is a KultureCity Certified Sensory Inclusive location.

The Sensory Rooms are located in each terminal Concourse and are intended as a calming, quiet space for passengers to retreat to as needed.
